Sushi can help prevent lung cancer!
According to recent studies, raw fish and fresh fish contain a component that lowers the risk of lung cancer. Information from Japan indicates that the number of people there who contract lung cancer is extremely low, in spite of the fact that Japan has more cigarette smokers than other countries. The cause was found to be in the Japanese diet, which has included raw fish throughout most of its history.
Doctors predict that hundreds of people's lives could be saved by following a Japanese-style diet. Around the world, doctors have been studying people who eat raw fish and those who do not. The results make it clear that people who eat a lot of raw fish and/or fresh fish have a significantly reduced risk of lung cancer. At the same time, it was found that dried fish has less of the cancer-reducing component that raw or fresh fish, and therefore does not have the same effect. Raw fish appears to be most effective against glandular cancer, one type of lung cancer.
